APPARITIONS
APPARITIONS (Suggested Landscapes and Mild Abstractions) puts forth scarred and flourishing visions of land, sea and architecture bleeding through the gauze of abstraction where vignettes and vistas congeal and terrestrial apparitions solidify with the insistence of a stain.
Disheveled by a discerning belligerence, the viewer is left with the ramparts of a coherent composition, recorded in the balance between the legible and abstract.
The product of channeling nature and parting snapshots, these images are portraits of an earth as we knew it. The stark grandeur of what we know is soon to pass does not abate, even if flooded or on fire. As if the fuse has been lit and disaster drives the same thought into every head at once … “Oh My God! This is it!”
And the planet holds vigil for all the beauty that will not die, and all the people who will … . .
